Section – A General Awareness: 30 Questions

In this Section you will find Question related to amazing general knowledge facts and useful information about most popular matters like World, Science, History, Technology, Current Affairs etc.

Section – B English Language: 50 questions

This section consists of two passages followed by questions based on the contents of the passages. Each of these questions consists of a related pair of words in capital letters, followed by four alternative pairs of words. Select the pair that best expresses a relationship similar to that expressed by the pair in the capitalized letters.

Section – C Quantitative Aptitude: 50 questions

This quantitative aptitude test consists of allegations questions which are part of the Quantitative section. One should practice lot of aptitude questions to crack them in the main exam. Aptitude tests measure those skills that you acquire during pursuit of your happiness. The quantitative aptitude test focuses upon your interests in arithmetic. It has been an important part of all screening aptitude tests.

Section – D Reasoning: 70 questions

In this section you will come across questions related to  particular emphasis on studies of reasoning. Whilst the primary focus is on psychological studies of thinking, contributions are welcome from philosophers, artificial intelligence researchers and other cognitive knowledge.  Reasoning Topics like of deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, problem solving, decision making, probability judgment, conceptual thinking and the influence of language and culture on thought.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will be conducting the Open Management Admission Test (OPENMAT) – XXIX and OPENDEN – III test on February 13, 2011.

The tests are conducted for admission to degree and diploma programmes in management at the varsity. These are:

1. Master of Business Administration (MBA)
2. Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management(PGDFM)
3. Diploma in Management (DIM)
4. Post Graduate Diploma in Operations Management (PGDOM)
5. Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDIM)
6. Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM)
7. Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM)
8. Post Graduate Certificate in Oral Implantology (PGCOI), Post Graduate Certificate in Endodontics (PGCE)

Candidates can apply by obtaining the students handbook and prospectus for Management Programme and OPENDEN Programmes 2011 from the Registrar at IGNOU’S office in Maidan Garhi, New Delhi and from all the regional centres of IGNOU whose addresses are given below, by sending a sum of Rs.550 through a Demand Draft/IPO in favor of IGNOU payable at New Delhi/city of concerned regional centre or by paying Rs.500 in cash at the respective sale counters.

The last date for the sale and submission of the form is January 11, 2011.

IGNOU has relaxed the minimum eligibility for admission to MBA and other management programmes. Now even fresh graduates can apply for these programmes unlike before when aspirants required to have at least three years of work experience to be eligible.

In a bid to enable more management aspirants obtain MBA degree, IGNOU has relaxed the minimum cut off marks for eligibility to get admission in its MBA programme to 50 per cent for general category students.

Now, fresh graduates in general category with 50 per cent marks and reserved category students with 45 per cent marks are eligible to appear for OPENMAT, the entrance test of IGNOU for admission to the MBA programme.

Even those graduates who have successfully cleared the entrance test for admission to management programme conducted by recognised institutions like CAT, MAT and state level tests conducted by the state governments need not sit for the OPENMAT test of IGNOU.

The age limit for admission to the management programmes apart from MBA offered by the university has also been removed.

A Number of popular MBA entrance exams are held in India for admission to various management institutes. These exams test the suitability of the candidates for admissions to MBA programmes. For any candidate interested in pursuing MBA courses it is very important that he/she has thorough knowledge of  MBA entrance exams.

Here is some useful information about OPENMAT MBA entrance exams in India

OPENMAT (OPEN Management Admission Test)
OPENMAT is conducted by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for admission to its management programs. OPENMAT examination is held twice a year in the month of February and August.

Management Programs offered by IGNOU are:

* Post Graduate Diploma in Operations Management

Eligibility for OPENMAT: For all the courses other than Diploma in Management, a candidate must have a Bachelors’ Degree + 3 yrs. Supervisory / managerial experience; OR any Professional Degree; OR a Master’s Degree in any subject. For Diploma in Management, non-graduates with 6 years of supervisory / managerial experience are also eligible.

Test Pattern: The duration of the test is three hours. The test comprises 200 objective type multiple choice questions of 1mark each. The test is divided into four sections: General Awareness (30 marks), English Language (50 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (50 marks), and Reasoning (70 marks).

Eligibility for Admission:

Bachelor’s Degree +3 Years’ Supervisory/ Managerial/Professional experience*OR Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Medicine/ Architecture/Law, etc. OR Professional Qualifications in Accountancy/Cost & Work Accountancy / Company Secretary ship etc. OR Master’s Degree in any subject. (The University may consider other degress in this list of equivalent professional degree/qualification, if required.)

Note: Non- Graduates with 6 years’ Supervisory/Managerial/Professional experience* are eligible to apply for DIM only. The Candidates who have completed 10+2 or its equivalent qualification will be treated as Non-Graduates.

There is no age bar for any of the Programmes.
