Delhi School of Management (DSM) which is the B-School of Delhi Technological University (DTU) extended its date of application for MBA till March 22, 2010 due to increasing demand.

Delhi Technological University (DTU) was formerly called Delhi College of Engineering. DTU entered into management education by starting DSM in 2009.

DSM provides a MBA programme for two years which includes specialization in knowledge and technology management, information technology management and supply chain management.

For applying in the institution, interested candidates should have a minimum aggregate of 60% in B.E. or B.Tech. for any branch of Engineering or Technology.

Otherwise, candidates should have Master’s Degree in any branch of Physical or Chemical or Mathematical Science like Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, Computer Application, Electronic Science, Environmental Science, Operations Research, Computation or Information Science.

Candidates can also have Master’s Degree in Commerce or Economics. A 5% marks relaxation or equivalent grades in CGPA will be provided to Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs).

Some applications will be selected based on the Common Admission Test (CAT) performance. Selected candidates will have to attend group discussion and interview.

According to the official web site of Indian Institute of Management (IIM), CAT 2009 Results deferred to end of February 2010. The IIMs have finally announced the date of declaration of the much awaited CAT results. The results will be available on the internet by tomorrow, 28th February.

The IIMs have been postponing the declaration of results for over a month now. The results were earlier scheduled to be declared on 22nd of January but due to the re scheduling of test for a number of candidates who faced problems during the test, the results got postponed to 15th February. To the dismay and frustration of the 2 lakh plus candidates the results were further postponed by a week.

CAT 2009 Online Test result will be announced before the end of February 2010. This is officially announced on the web site of CAT 2009 also. This is the third time the result date has been post pond. The results may be out in these 3 days if there is no further delay is announced.

About 2.42 lakh candidates registered for CAT 2009, but in the first administration window, only about 2.16 lakh candidates completed the test. This could be due to technical or other issues faced by candidates as the exam went online for the first time.

The results will be declared for the 8 IIMs in India i.e. IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, IIM Lucknow and IIM Shillong. IIM Ranchi is latest management institute to join this elite

Delhi University’s department of financial studies (DFS) and department of business economics (DBE) will conduct a joint entrance exam. Students appearing for the exam will be eligible to apply for a two-year master of finance and control (MFC) programme and two-year master of business economics (MBE) programme for the academic session commencing July 2010.

“Over the years we held separate exams, but maximum candidates applying for both the courses were common. The joint entrance will save time and resources for both departments,” said Muneesh Kumar, coordinator, admission and placements, DFS. This is the first time that two departments of the university have agreed to conduct a common exam.

The admission test will be held on March 21 at Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai. Last date for submission of completed application form is February 24.

CAT Exam or Common Aptitude Test, one of the biggest test for MBA Aspirants results which was supposed to be declared on 22nd January will be declared now in the 3rd week of February 2010. CAT exam is the test that is written by thousands of students and the toppers get to go to top MBA Colleges of India, namely the IIMS. BUt this year when the exam was held in computerised manner for the first time, there were many technical errors in the exam centers and manystudents were not able to write the exam. Moreover, it was reported that some of the questions were leaked through word of mouth. So, for somestudents and some centers where the exam have not been held properly, there will be a retest.

CAT conducts entrance exam for the MBA aspirants to get into IIMs and other top B-school. Cat 2009 exam was held in computerised manner for the first time, there were many technical errors at the exam centers and many students were not able to complete their examination process.

The second phase of CAT 2009 will be conducted on January 30th and 31st, 2010, according to the CAT IIM website and the CAT 2009 result date is likely to be around third week of February. About 2.40 lakh candidates registered for CAT 2009. A large number of students could not appear in the CAT 2009 due to technical faults.

The Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra has issued the notification for admissions to the “First year of full time post graduate courses in management for the year 2010-2011. The entrance test will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at 2 pm. The sale of the Information Brochure and the Application Form from selected Post Offices in Maharashtra will start from, i.e. Monday, January 18, 2010 till Tuesday, February 2, 2010. The Submission of the completed forms should be done by Wednesday, February 3, 2010.

Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for the candidates to apply for the MBA entrance exam of MAH – CET 2010 is Bachelor’s Degree in a Full Time Course from any University recognized by Association of Indian Universities with minimum 50 per cent aggregate. Candidates belonging to the backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra state only should have 45 per cent minimum aggregate.

Students who are in the final year of their graduation and have appeared for their final exam are also eligible to apply.

For the academic year 2010-11, both the Maharashtra State and OMS candidates who have appeared/appearing for the CAT 2009 are considered eligible for admission against the All India Seats subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria mentioned in the Information Brochure. Such candidates are also required to procure the Information Brochure along with Application kit and submit & confirm the Online Application form.

For admission to MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDM course, the candidate is required to score minimum 30 marks in MAH MBA/MMS-CET 2010. Candidates seeking admission on the basis of CAT 2009 are required to obtain minimum equivalent score.

The result of the MAH CET 2010 entrance exam will be declared on Monday, April 5, 2010 at 5 pm.

IIM Lucknow has announced admissions for the three year part time Post Graduate Program in Management for Working Executives. The classes will be held in the Noida campus of the MBA School for this executive MBA program.

This program is specially designed for the working executives and professionals and entrepreneurs.

Admission process
The admission to this program takes place through a written exam which will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2010 in Noida and/or New Delhi. The written exam will be held on the pattern of Common Admission Test (CAT) of IIMs. The final selection will take place through the Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD/PI) of the shortlisted candidates.

Eligibility

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree or any equivalent program from AICTE, UGC or Ministry of HRD. The minimum CGPA obtained by the candidate in Graduation is 50 per cent for general candidates and 45 per cent for SC/ST/PWD candidates.The applicant must have also minimum three years of work experience (after Graduation) as managerial, entrepreneurial and or professional work experience. The applicant must be below 45 years of age as on July 1, 2010.
